The new CCIE Service Provider certification program prepares you for today’s expert-level job roles in service provider technologies. CCIE Service Provider now includes automation and programmability to help you scale your service provider infrastructure.
One of the industry's most respected certifications, CCIE distinguishes you as a technical leader.
To earn CCIE Service Provider, you pass two exams: a qualifying exam and hands-on lab exam.
First, take the qualifying exam, Implementing and Operating Cisco Service Provider Network Core Technologies (SPCOR 350-501), which focuses on your knowledge of service provider infrastructure.
You can prepare for this exam by taking the training course, Implementing and Operating Cisco Service Provider Network Core Technologies (SPCOR).
The qualifying exam earns a Specialist certification, so you can get recognized for your accomplishments along the way.
Second, take the 8-hour, hands-on lab exam, CCIE Service Provider v5.0. This exam covers the end-to-end lifecycle of complex service provider networks, from designing through deploying, operating and optimizing.
On February 24, 2020, the new 350-501 SPCOR exam will replace the CCIE Service Provider Written exam. After you pass 350-501 SPCOR, you will earn the Cisco Certified Specialist - Service Provider Core certification.
On April 27, 2020, the new CCIE Service Provider Lab exam v5.0 will replace the current CCIE Wireless Lab exam v4.1.
That means that between February 24 and April 27, 2020, to earn CCIE Service Provider, you must pass the 350-501 SPCOR exam and the CCIE Service Provider Lab exam v4.1.
If you pass the current CCIE Service Provider Written v4.1 exam before February 24, you'll be eligible to take the lab exam that is available when you test, either CCIE Service Provider Lab exam v4.1 or CCIE Service Provider Lab exam v5.0.
If you complete the entire CCIE Service Provider certification before April 27, then on April 27, you'll automatically receive the new CCIE Service Provider certification, which you can maintain as per new recertification guidelines.
There are no formal prerequisites for CCIE Service Provider, but you should have a thorough understanding of the exam topics before taking the exam.
CCIE candidates are recommended to have five to seven years of experience with designing, deploying, operating and optimizing service provider technologies and solutions prior to taking the exam.
CCIE Service Provider certification is valid for three years. For more information about recertifying, visit the Recertification page.
